Songs Stages and Seafood Festival (May 22-25)…is also a celebration of music, dance and …dare I say it….education!!
Songs Stages and Seafood Festival is designed to celebrate the sea through music, dance, and of course seafood. We are also proud to offer educational components to the festival; there is a culinary workshop where participants of all ages can learn various techniques of food preparations. Food demonstrations at our Carved by the Sea Luncheon, competitive opportunities at the Provincial Seafood Chowder Challenge and cod splitting demonstrations at the Red Fisherman’s Shed during Toutons, Tom Cods and Tunes. Each of these particular events is family friendly!!
Built in the name of the festival is songs and stages, many songs written and performed on a “stage” , many songs were danced to on a “stage” or in the middle of a church hall . Music and dance are part of our culture; it is woven into the very fabric of Newfoundlanders and Labradoreans. They blend together perfectly, in my opinion to help celebrate this wonderful tribute to the sea and its people.
People will come to the festival for the food, but for the music and the dance as well. We have some amazing performers with us this year they are world class in my opinion, and I am honored to have them. This combination makes for a unique and authentic experience for those who will be attending the Songs, Stages and Seafood Festival .
Take a look at this year’s performers, and I hope to see you there!!
