Bay Roberts is a very active community, especially during the Christmas season. We are blessed with so many volunteers who help make our celebrations a reality and of course special. Our preparations start in September but the set up begins in November. Here are a few pictures of some of the preparations, I also threw in a few from both our Santa Claus Parades. (I hope you voted in our pole!!)
I would like to take a moment to personally thank each and every volunteer who helps make Bay Roberts special.
I remember last winter I attended a conference on municipalities, the guest speaker was very engaging, she made a comment that has always been my professional mantra, but she affirmed my thoughts. “Every community has, water, sewer, garbage collection, snow ploughs, etc,(all essential and important btw) but it is the special things your community does for its residents that makes it a desirable place to live” (loosely quoted). I believe Bay Roberts is one of those communities; we are special because of our volunteers.
This past week in Bay Roberts was very hectic with many events have a look below:
There are a great deal of on going events throughout the month of December. I know you all have hectic schedules, but please keep in mind the Nativity collection at the Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints on Central Street. This display is uplifting and for those of you looking for a taste of true Christmas spirit, please take your families and visit, you will not be disappointed.
I will leave you with this final picture. I know Catherine and Steve Armiger are helpful people but they really helped this reindeer when he needed a rest before heading back to the North Pole , Thanks Steve and Catherine, and Merry Christmas!!
