It is hard to believe, but Halloween is just around the corner!! As I drive around the region it is evident everyone is getting into the mood and decorating their homes and gardens big time. I remember when decorating for Halloween meant putting up and few colored pumpkins in the window. Today, for some, people go all out, creatively decorating as much (or more) than they do for Christmas. The lights, blow up creatures and spooky sets are worth hopping in your car and going for a tour (if you like Halloween).
In Bay Roberts, our community likes to celebrate all the seasons, and we like to invite everyone to our community to help us celebrate. Last year we launched a Halloween Park, our inspiration was the beautiful Quebec City, it has a wonderful park that celebrates the season and the folklore of the region. We have taken this idea and created out own community park, it is a great place for family pictures in the day or night. We also host the public during our lantern tours which takes place in the evening(October 29-30, 7 pm start); it is moderately scary, but fun for the whole family. We have various characters that walk the park and specific stops along the way to hear the ghosts, witches and the tormented tell their stories.
If you have a chance to visit Bay Roberts, follow our signs to the park and enjoy, be sure to bring your camera.
